The One Who Sees Ahead and Provides

In the 22nd chapter of Genesis, Abraham proclaims the faithfulness of God to provide by calling Him;    Jehovah-Jireh (Gen. 22:14):   a Hebrew name that literally means; The Lord will see to it.  We would say The One Who provides.

In the past couple of years, this truth has taken on new significance for me and my family.  Since our call to full time Missions work; my family has been asked of God over and over again to take brave and bold steps of faith.  And each time I feel the need to shrink back, His reminder to my heart has been; “Remember daughter, I Am Jehovah Jireh. I will provide.”

The Bible is filled with examples of times when God has requested that His servants endure what seems by all human observation to be nearly “impossible;” but then God shows up and “sees to it” that everything works out for good and for His glory – in short;  He provides.

This week, I pray that you will join me in praising Jesus for the unseen and the unknown.  He is the only One Who can see ahead and make provision; and in that – by faith, we can take great comfort knowing that God will provide!

Amen
