 Things I Am Thankful For This Thanksgiving

I am thankful for a husband that loves me even though I put the empty milk jug back in the fridge and I don’t replace the toilet roll when it runs out. He is a patient man.

I am thankful for a warm home and a soft bed, even though they smell like dog and they are covered in fur.

I am thankful for my friends, who are living all over the country, because this week they discovered we can conference call. I

Give thanks for the new tires

For a couple weeks when my daughter was three, she added a new line to the end of her bedtime prayers, “And thanks for the new tires.”

Her prayer was prompted by an event that started with a one hour drive to my Grandma’s house. I noticed that the car had  extra tire noise, and front-end shaking. When my husband got home, he inspected the tires and found wire showing on one of the front tires. The next morning, I headed to the shop with my two toddlers

Confessions of a Peace Lover...

Thanksgiving 2011…ummm, weren’t we just celebrating Thanksgiving 2010? Another year has passed far too quickly. We have celebrated the milestone birthdays (10, 13, 18, 25 and 50 all in one year!), the wedding of our firstborn and her sweetheart, the birth of a precious nephew and sweet great-niece. We have rejoiced with those who rejoice and wept with those whose hearts were breaking. In short we have lived life to the full, with hearts full of thanksgiving in the midst of joy and tears.
