On Easter morning my girls woke up early and rushed downstairs. The Easter bunny, (AKA: Mommy), had done it’s work and two brightly colored bags full of blue and yellow tissue sat gleaming in our living room.
Chris and I followed, eager to watch their excitement. “Hold on,” I said. “I forgot my camera.”
As I ran back upstairs in search of my phone, Tenley, my two-year-old, continued to plow through the tissue that filled her bag.
“Stop, Tenley, just wait a minute,” Chris said.

A while back my daughter and I found a DVD copy of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood at our local library. As we watched together, equally absorbed in the adventures of Lady Alaine and Daniel Tiger, my attention was drawn to a song they were singing while peeling apples for an afternoon snack.

We all have our quirks.
I can’t go to sleep with the closet door open.
I can’t function without my morning shower.
I can’t eat bread after it’s been in the fridge.
A few weeks ago my husband, Chris, decided it was time to get a new chair for his office. Thinking this was a good opportunity for some family fun we loaded up our girls and headed to Staples where we played a game of Goldilocks by testing every chair.
