First of all let me get this out there….our family would NEVER have chosen Alzheimer Disease as a path for our mom to journey.

Never.

But for whatever reason it is the path we found ourselves on with her. We wouldn’t have chosen it, yet growth came as we journeyed through it.

God is bigger than fear

For as long as I can remember, I have avoided the news like the plague. At 4:00 on days where I’m free, I love watching Ellen Degeneres. She brings so much joy and laughter. But as soon as the hour ends and the 5:00 news starts – click, off goes the TV or the channel changes. I understand that some awareness of what is happening around me is good, but constantly bombarding myself with all the bad in the world only brings me sadness and fear.

Confession of a Peace Lover…

Last week’s word was JOY. This week’s word is PEACE. It’s a word that I have a special fondness of, a feeling I enjoy, a promise I depend on. We hear a lot of this word this time of year as it is part of the Christmas story found in Luke 2.

Jesus liked the word PEACE too – I guess it shouldn’t surprise us since Isaiah 9:6 told us He would be the “Prince of Peace”. In the Sermon on the Mount recorded in Matthew 5:9,
