What I'll Miss Most

A few nights ago my husband, daughters and I came home after an evening of running errands. As we walked in the door my dad smiled big at my daughter, Aletheia, and told her a surprise was waiting for her in her room.

Excited, we all went upstairs to find a small but beautiful Christmas tree had been placed in each of my daughters’ rooms.

Confessions of a Peace Lover…

Somehow November has melted into December…it seems to be how this year has gone, we celebrate the arrival of one month and blink…and it is time to turn the calendar page again.

It’s been a good year, not a perfect year (is there any such thing?) but a good year even amidst some tears. I confess it seems strange that Mom is gone this Christmas, and yet in so many ways Alzheimer Disease took her from us many years ago.

My Perfectly Imperfect Christmas

As I sit to write this week’s post I’d like to tell you that I’m listening to the soothing sounds of Nat King Cole singing “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.” Doesn’t that sound lovely?
