Don’t Take My Word For It, Hear What God Has to Say…

“…pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.”Proverbs 4:20 (NIV)

Considering the many voices that come from radio, television, and Internet platforms, it can be somewhat challenging to tune them all out and only hear God. And is it just me, or is everybody an “expert” on everything from losing weight to living your dreams, claiming they can change your life? But the One who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it is also speaking. He says He loves you. He says you’ve come this far by faith, don’t give up now. He says you can do all things through His Son, who strengthens you. And He says because of Him, you’re a big deal! But don’t take my word for it…

I love you

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)

You’ve come this far by faith, don’t give up now.

“I have better things in mind for you—salvation things! God doesn’t miss anything. He knows perfectly well all the love you’ve shown him by helping needy Christians, and that you keep at it. And now I want each of you to extend that same intensity toward a full-bodied hope, and keep at it till the finish. Don’t drag your feet. Be like those who stay the course with committed faith and then get everything promised to them.Hebrews 6:9-12 (MSG)

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

“Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Philippians 4:13 (MSG)

You’re a big deal!

“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.” Matthew 5:13 (MSG)

Heavenly Father, help me tune in to what You are saying to me and my family. I make a wholehearted decision today to listen for Your voice and to act on what I hear. Amen.
