    Recently I was blessed with the chance to interview someone I admire about the challenges and blessings of being a Christian mentor. During our time together, we had some laughs; but because truly Christ centered mentoring means a willingness to be completely transparent about sins and shortcomings; we also discussed some of the harder parts that come with bearing another’s burdens in the unique way that Christian Accountability requires.     I’m a State Trooper

    Tonight I ran out of gas just in time to pull over to the side of the interstate. The gas station at the next exit was just in my line of sight as the sun set on the horizon, and so, I gathered my valuables and began walking. Shortly after I left my vehicle, another vehicle pulled up beside me. The driver, who was a very attractive young man rolled his window down and smiled at me.

    “I Want to Cry Faster”

    Last week, my six year old son Elijah had a meltdown. After recovering from a fever that caused him to miss 4 days of school and two days of his all-time favorite activity – Taekwondo, he just wanted to play his favorite computer game and relax. Unfortunately, I needed to use the internet, and the computer that runs his game is the only one with an online connection. For Elijah, this was the last straw…he blew his stack!

    Life is More

    There comes a time each week during the Monday night small group gathering at my church where we take time to inquire as to how we can pray for each other in the upcoming week. Recently at the conclusion of our gathering ; someone made a comment, almost in passing; she said, “It’s always something isn’t it.” We all smiled and chuckled quietly in agreement before folding our hands in prayer and then dispersing quietly into the night, back to our everyday lives.
